IPL Facial Rejuvenation
Rejuvenate your damaged skin | Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)
IPL Facial Rejuvenation is for people who are suffering from Acne, dull skin, thread veins or rosacea. When your skin shows signs of wear and tear caused by over-exposure to the sun, or you have fine lines and wrinkles of everyday ageing.
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatment, sometimes known as a photofacial, skin resurfacing or photo-rejuvenation, is a non-invasive process which helps to improve your skin’s appearance and texture. By volumising skin and stimulating collagen, IPL rejuvenation promotes the skin’s natural healing process and helps healthy tissue develop in place of visible scarring. Mostly done on the face, neck, chest, arms and legs, IPL treatment is a proven route to smoother, better-looking skin.
IPL treatment can help reduce the visible effects of red, flushed skin, rosacea, broken capillaries, pigmented lesions, large pores, sun damage discolouration, mild acne and uneven skin tone. It’s suitable for use on the face, neck, chest, arms and legs.
When you attend our clinic for your treatment, we’ll cleanse your skin of any impurities. You’ll be provided with eye shields to protect your eyes from the light energy. Then you’ll feel the IPL applicator on the skin, followed by a prickling sensation and a burst of flashes of light.
As the handheld device is passed across the skin, it delivers a spectral range of light that targets the problem area. The IPL high-intensity pulses use visible light to penetrate into the deeper layers of skin and break down inconsistent pigmentation.
Each treatment takes approximately 20 to 30 minutes. Depending on the condition to be treated, three to six sessions, spaced for to six weeks apart, are generally required.
Some patients see a result after just a single treatment, but we advise our clients that it usually takes two to three sessions before they begin to see a noticeable difference in their skin’s tone and texture.
Your skin is always subject to change as a result of sun exposure and the natural ageing process. After completing a full course of treatments, and once you are happy with how your skin looks, we recommend occasional “top up” sessions to keep the skin looking fresh. This may be necessary once or twice a year but will depend on your skin and how it responds to the treatment.
